Walk Cycle

 

This project was about practicing a walk cycle and also giving the character a personality.  The background was put on a peg so I could animate the character in place.  It took a few tries of changing the background length so the character would not look like they were sliding as much.

These exercises were to practice arcs, squash/stretch, overlapping action, and character movement.  Every time I started a project, I had to re-download Harmony from online.  You have to be careful when skipping a few frames so that you don't accidentally fill in the space with the previous frames.  Although sometimes that can be helpful.

Introduction

 Hi, my name is Mel. For this project, we had to sync the animation to short audio clip.  The body had to be moving as well as the face.  The process involved many layers for the individual movements.  I started with torso, arms, head, then hair, then mouth, and finally eyes/nose/eyebrows.  I filmed separate reference footage for the body movement and the face movement.  On paper, I planned the mouth poses so I could reference it later.  These are syllable's from the first 8 words: This is the final animation.
